You can buy this stuff which most people use...

Make sure you clean the surface well before using it to remove an oil etc.

It can come out ok but it can also be very flaky etc and wear off if done incorrectly. Personally I wouldn't use it never seems to come out looking that good.

Painting dashes is a simple process. If you are talking about the whole dash then pulling it out will be the hardest part. How ever if you just want to paint the dash pieces (eg: around the shifter, CD Fascia, around the clock) its a piece of pi$$.

I did this in my old EB with Colour Matched paint. If you can tell the texture is a bit grainy but that is because i decided not too sand the primer.

The process is as follows,

Clean the surface with some Metho or Wax & Grease Remover.
Apply Primer Evenly and let it dry.
Sand the primer back with something like 300grit paper just to remove the lumps.
Then spray your desired colour over the top.

If the parts you are paint are damaged you may need to use some spray putty before you apply primer. (Spray putty must also be sanded)
