Hey mate,
i used a 10ml ring spanner and got the bolts off my water pump, The best way to get max space to your water pump is to remove the radiator, then the cowling, remove the power steering unit then you should have full acess its the bottom right bolt is the pain in the but to get off cause of the angle between the bottom pully and water pump

Your best bet is to concentrate on getting the bolts outa the water pumptry using some rp7 or crc

have you had the water pump out before?

maybe the bolts are crossed threaded causing them to be that hard to get out.

the only other thing i can think of is to get a 3/8 open ended spanner but its an extreamly tight fit you may need a hammer to get it on. (I personally wouldent recomend this though) then gently tap it round till they come loose.

Maybe try getting a really small 1/4 drive and 10ml socket,

get a 6 point socket for working on frauds. 12 points always round s**t off unless they want to be removed.

In relation to your question about the fan

youll need to remove the fan+shroud, the fan clutch has a left handed thread, that being u need to turn it clockwise to actually undo it, youll need to put a screwdriver between one of the retaining bolts and the water pump hub to prevent it from rotating while u r trying to undo it.
