Im going to replace the lower ball joints on my car and have never done it before, some people say you can press em with a good pole or hammer, some people say this can damage it. What should i do? Should i replace anything else when im down there?

Reason im doing this is the car (1994 EF Ghia i6) has a very loud knocking noise coming from the front of the car and ive been told its the ball joints.

Check it out with a pinchbar or similar to be sure.
And yes, use a press.

Yeah they are stuck in there pretty tight. They have little teeth that bite into the metal, which causes it to be a pain to get out just using a hammer. Your better off taking it to a suspension shop or mechanic and getting them to do it.

a old trick it is to put the ball joints into the freezer for at least 30 mins so they shrink abit so easier to fit on once they get to room temp they expand into place and nicean tight.
