a bit of history to start with.....a little while ago i realised that i could start my car when in D or R which i thought was a bit unusual. so someone suggested to change the little white switch thing bolted on the the transmission. i just changed it and now the car wont change gears. it seems to be stuck in the first gear. does anyone know how to fix this problem ??

all help will be greatly appreciated as i need to get it fixed asap so that i can make it to my work tomorrow morning.

Try putting the old one back on and see if it gives you your hears back?

i would have done that but i broke the switch trying to get it out
