Hey, my car has this wobble that's very noticeable when cruising at 50-60k's around bends and it only happens when I'm steering to the right. It feels as though it's coming from around the front left wheel area. Does anyone know what might be causing it? Thanks

Check your wheel nuts aren't loose.
Jack it up and hold the tyre at 12 and 6 o'clock and wobble it in the vertical, see if there is much play. if there is a lot of play, your hub might be loose, meaning either the bearings have died on you or the hub retaining nut needs to be retightened to make sure the hub is seated correctly. Check all nuts and bolts in your suspension...make sure none of them are loose.

Does it make a sound or just wobble?
One of the cabs I used to drive was notorious for developing a wobble n a straight line. it would start off smooth and then get worse and worse to the point of feeling like being on the brakes with severely warped disks, except you are just cruising and aren't on the brakes. The minute you slow down or go around a bend the wobble disappears and as soon as you straighten up it comes back again. The car went for numerous wheel alignments and not one tire mechanic, tire shop or suspension specialist could diagnose the problem. Thankfully it got written off last week. |
