So this is probably a really nooby question? But i want to paint the external b pillars(i think this is what theyre called) on my au fairmont ghia, just wondering how i would go about doing it? I'm pretty sure there some kind of aluminium, but its a fairly matte finish. How can i paint these without making them extremely glossy?

I've never looked closely at my AU, but I assume they're similar to E series ones. That blackout on the B pillar sections of the door frame should be like contact or tint, it's applied over the surface.
You might be able to peel it off without too much trouble. EDIT, I see I've been beaten to it..

Not meaning to sound untrustworthy, but are you 100% its plastic? Minegets cold just like metal, doesnt have a 'plastic' cold feel.. And around the inside edge where it was bent over the door kinda thing it feels like sheet metal, and also ubder the chipped off paint it is a very metallic silver.. Im just having a hardtime believing its plastic lol

pretty sure theyre plastic, well on BA's they are because i never fail at snapping the clip off at the top when removing them at work.
but AU ones COULD be metal.

Thanks troyman. How do i remove them from an au? Will i have to sand it all back to metal and then paint it?
