yep, the red wire goes to 12v ignition or(pin57 on the ecu)
and the green wire goes to pin 15 on the el ecu.. |

Cut from another thread:
Can anyone expand on this. Im putting the El manifold in my EB this weekend and need to know how the BBM valve works. In the EL the solenoid behind the washer bottle has 2 vacuum hoses on it, one is big and fat and dissapears into the cabin, the other goes to the BBM Butterflies via a funny lookin 5 way plug. Where does the one that goes into the cabin plug into? I am assuming this is the vacuum feed for the BBM butterflies and Im wondering if I can just take vacuum from the manifold tree? Instead of finding a feed in the cabin (Im assuming its going to somewhere near the AC controls. |

to make it simple
you run a vacuum line from a manifold vacuum port to the blue one-way valve connecting it to the black end of the valve. From the blue end of the valve run the vacuum hose to the bottom fitting on the release solenoid, then from the top outlet on the solinoid run a vac hose to the diaphragm on the front of the bbm.. |

when switch was mentioned i presumed that ya ment the actual vaccume mechanism

well there is the diaphram on the front of the manifold and then there is the bbm vacuum solinoid,(which releases the vacuum when triggered by the ecu) which could be refered to as the bbm switch???

Thanx Troyman, sorry to be such a pain with all these questions, but going through the search for connecting stuff to what and where, all you really get is stuff like "I connected up the BBM Solenoid to the whoseeywhatsit plug and it works great, thanks for the help guys" but doesnt actually say how to do it. Im making up a step by step how to flow chart while Im doing this conversion and hopefully it all should come together really well. I will be certain to include a thankyou section to anyone who helps. |

Thanks for your appreciation, I couldnt see anywhere where someone had actually spelled out how to do it. Its a reasonably straight forward job to do, but I was still a little apprehensive doing it. The only bit I havent finished is organising the vacuum tree properly, I dont have a feed for the AC yet, but thats just a $3 tee from autobahnz to fix that up. Next job is installing the thermo fans. Might get in and have a go tonight. Ive fitted davies craig kits before with the adjustable temp controller etc but never wired one to the ECU, but its only 2 wires as far as I can see so it should be a piece of piss. There is a spreadsheet of the ECU pinouts somewhere on here, it should be made a sticky thread in a new section specifically for wiring and electricals. Also, the BBM coversion doesnt do f**k all difference untill you have wired the switch into the computer then yeehawwww it is much better, and so much lighter on fuel too. The one thing I have noticed is that the Auto trans holds gears way longer than with the old comp, almost as long as on power mode but hey, me no complain.
