hi to all who can help.
many years ago i brought an early 88 ea falcon. it had a single point 3.9 with a 5 speed... and no smart lock. soon after i installed a multi point 6. i of had to change computer with a non smart lock unit as well as, fuel pump and the engine loom. i have brought a v8 EB which is gonna be installed in the EA. im currently in the process of installing the v8 but have a few questions. i know the computer and loom is different and that the auto trans control unit needs to be used but will the entire loom from inside the EB need to be installed in the ea. also im unsure if the fuel pump, brake booster, need to be changed please any help or advice would be great. THANK YOU |

Fuel pump shouldnt have to be touched, the brake booster for a v8 is a dual diaphram same as xr6 im not sure if the brake booster would matter.

Good questions.
The Fuel Pump - I know is the same for all MPI Falcons up to EL. Wiring wise - easiest is to replace the Engine Bay body Harness, the EEC Engine bay harness, and the dash harness. If your lucky the rear harness for the car will just plug in. Brake booster should be ok, as when we do XF 5.0's we dont need to change the booster. Im just putting a DC 5.0 into an XF - similar level of job. Nigel |

It's agood idea to use the entire EB harness, especially if it has smartlock...makes the job faster and easier. I hope you have a V8 K-member? No need to change brake booster.

What about the legalities? No EA's had V8 from factory?
