Hey Guys,

I got a BA and i went to put an LED Globe into the centre tailight on the parcel shelf but it doesnt work, i think it has something to do with the fact that LED's are negative and positive? Is that the problem? If so how do i wire it up correctly?

Cheers in advance,

Yes, LED's do have to have the polarity the right way (unlike regular bulbs).

If it is just a wedge bulb, turn it 180 degrees, this will fix the polarity

My suggestion - don't do it. It will look s**t. LED's are directional, so they will not make the hole light illuminate

yeah you'll need one that illuminates with LED's facing sideways for the best light...

For some strange reason, when I put LED tail lights in my car (Bulb is the dual function type) then with the parkers on my spoiler light comes on dim like tail lights... Never worked out of why or how, but the LED tail lights were s**t house so I went back to filaments, works better and stopped the spoiler light coming on dim...

Cheers,
Tim

Hi, yes, LEDs are bipolar, so they might not be the easiest solution in this case. I found quite a lot of useful info on LEDs on LEDcentre's site, you might want to check out.

Hey all,

Cheers for the help, it was just too dimm to see I was trying to see it in a reflection from a window. Tried spinning it and everything, then i got home and put a brick on the pedel late in the arvo so i could give it a good eyeball, i can see it now :). Tried it first thing this morning too, only about half as bright as a normal incandescent but with tinted tail lights it works out perfect :).

Cheers Fellas,
