Hey all, I didnt know where to post this so I decided id put it here. My mate has a dual cab ute that he wants to take the bench seat out of the rear and put in 2 bucket seats so he can have his sub setup in the middle of them. Does anybody know about the legality of this and whether it can be complied?

Cheers

Anything is legal as long as an engineer says it is and the RTA agree...

I am not 100% sure on this but firstly...is the dual cab a 4 or 5 seater? If it is a 5 seater than it would be illegal unless as dazza said, an engineers certificated is handed out and the car re-registered as a 4 seater. If it is a 4 seater, he may just be able to get away with it...how ever if anything structural is changed, then again, an engineers certificate is required. Anything is possible if enough money is thrown at it.

Also...seats belong in the interior of the car...so I would think the interior forum would have been a good start ;).
