ea clutch is smaller 240mm and only has 3 bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel..
the ef clutch is larger 255mm and has 6 bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel,
much stronger clutch..

but to change over to the ef clutch, you need to change to an ef flywheel..

Later clutch bolts to the flywheel with 6 bolts instead of 3. Later ones are better.

The flywheel is different.

To change from 3 bolt to 6 bolt change the flywheel and clutch.

or you can get holes driled and taped in the flywheel by a machining shop

Here are some pics of a pair of flywheels. One is from an EA and the other from an ED.
I drilled and tapped holes in the EA one to fit a 6 bolt clutch.....but it also has holes further out, but aren't tapped.....like for a V8....weird.
The bolt spacing is different between the EA and the ED. The ED ones are more evenly spaced.
I have the EA flywheel and clutch in my ED now....and have no probs with it.
