Can anyone tell me y i can not run the normal dizzy "cast" gear on my distributor, i have to use the steel crow 1? If i use the normal 1 it lasts about 10 klms, it just strips them...

is it a stock motor / stock cam?

if it has a solid cam you need to run the steel gear, due to the different material the cam is made from, and engine harmonics

its common to use the steel dizzy gear as the new cam is harder than the std dizzy gear.
