To put it simply, will a setup like the one ive drawn work?

one rca split into 2, one feeding front, one feeding rear

then bridging the 2 channels together at the other end as i have drawn

my logic is that the same signal is going into each channel, therefore same output from each channel, so really im using 2 channels to power one sub.
It sounds ok in MY head, but i am no expert with car audio

What is the amp you got mate? only certian AMP's can go from 4/2/1 channel.

In short, no that won't work.

As you say you're feeding the same signal into two channels, therefore the outputs will be the same = sub not moving (best case), smoke being released (worst case)

Most amps (99.99999% of them) won't work like that.

as its been said, some amps can do the 4/2/1 but not all, check the amps manual, some websites have old manuals on them.

best option (if the amp supports it) is to do what I've done, run the two RCA's into the rear channels (3 and 4) then hook the positive of the sub to the positive of channel 3 and the negative to the negative of channel 4.
This will only work if the amp is bridgeable and internally at that, otherwise look up bridging on google and see what you can find.

Also as I said CHECK THE MANUAL or even the amp casing and see if it can be done, otherwise you will more than likely have a nice smoke show of your amp going bang.

its definately a 4/3/2 channel amp, i dont think i going to try it anyway, not worth the risk. but i thought it may be possible to feed to seperate channels to one sub.

like running 2 RCAs from the same signal into 2 diferent mono block amps, and then powering a single sub with both amps....
