maybe different brands.
the ones we used to sell need to be installed into a LSD carrier i fitted plenty of them and tried to install into a open carrier but wouldnt fit due to size. with a little bit of machine work i reakon you could make it fit. i cant remember the brand we used to sell but it was a common brand |

interesting about the LSD carrier... Im putting mine in tomorrow, as I thought, they just replaced the spider gear? The one I have is basically a cylinder, with 28 splines on each side, where the axels are inserted from what I see. Does this sound similar xr8 dismantler?
Cheers

All a minispool is, is a solid crown gear instead of a crown and centre. So you can get a spool to suit any diff. or you can pack your existing centre full of lead, or weld it. Spools make you loose control of the car, unless it was used for drags only i would not recommend it.
The whole purpose of a differential it to enable you to steer easily. When you fix the axels and are no forcing the wheels to turn, eg exelerating, you will find it more difficult to turn, and under high speeds you will find yourself sideways pretty damn quick. I f you are trying to swerve around a kid on the road, your first instinct is to go for the brake, second is to swerve away from him/her. In doing this you will stop drive to the diff, making it harder for you to steer, and then reef on the steering wheel which will send you broad side into the pedestrian. On the otherhand you can get sideways easier and do, VL turbo voice, FULLY SCHICK BURNOUTS MATE!!!. Muff |

I haven't fitted mine yet, still getting around to it.
As for hitting pedestrians sideways, more points . In all seriousness, Im sure if you drive carefully, the difference would be minimal on the road, just in car parks. Cheers
