Hi,

On the way home from work today I gave it a boot and at about 4500-5000rpm the engine just lost all power, like completely stopped pulling.

I backed off and started to drive like normal again and it all went just fine. Not sure if its in my head or not but it seems like it may have lost some of its go and sounds a little different.

I just got a new exhaust system put on Wednesday so that may have something to do with the sound.

It idles fine and what not, waiting for it to cool down now to check over it, put all the gauges were showing normal.

Anyone have any ideas?

Just checked the oil, coolant and trans oil, all looks and smells just fine, no signs of problems.

Took it for a spin and seems to be running as per normal again.

Very strange issue, if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Cheers

Not sure what you mean, it changes depending on how hard I drive.

Anyway, I only recently had everything replaced and serviced, that's why it seems odd and I just would love to know what the deal is, don't want to have damaged something important and not know it.

The car seems to running just fine today...

I got the car to do it again, when I hit it hard it will cut out at around 4500rpm. The only thing I had changed prior to the issue was the timing.

So I put it back to where it used to be and all is fine again.

Can anyone explain how the timing could cause this?

Not sure, I don't have a timing gun, but it runs really well now. I'll have it checked soon.

LOL you need a timing gun and to put the engine in base timing mode.

Without the gun your walking blind.

I know, the engine was in base timing mode when I adjusted it, I only moved it slightly and then test drove it.

But your right, I will get it checked properly.
