Tonight driving home, found that my indicators were taking about 3 or 4 seconds to blink.
I have tried with the lights off and on. No difference. All indicator globes are working as well.

It was out of the blue...
Any ideas?

Yep its one of the big black units. Turn on the blinker and you will hear it clicking.

Yes, was going to say that, mine was exactly the same on the AU series II. Changed it over with Ford...$40.00 though.

Can anyone tell me if this flasher relay needs to be genuine or could I have got one from Supercheap or Autobarn at a cheaper price.

Thanks

Glad to hear you sorted it out. On some models it can also mean that one of your indicators globes has blown, I've run into this more often than a dodgy relay

Thanks, I'll know now not to go Ford directly for the same thing.
