I have taken the cluster out of a mates car and tried to put on white dials. Anyway all the needles came off easy except the fuel guage it took the pin with it. Now when we put the fuel guage on now it jerks and wont smoothly drop to empty. If you pullt he needle up a touch it runs smoothly for a few seconds. We are not sure if like the pin is bent or the inside of the cluster is dmaged from pulling it out. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Also do you think if we took it to ford they could send it to vdo for a repair?

Sounds f**k.

Gently pull it out and try to straighten it then try putting it back in.

THat failing, buy a new cluster and swap the kays over.

In the end we couldnt get it working properly. It is back in but works dodgy.

I took my cluster out and though i stuffed the speedo and tacho. Turns out i hadnt put the face on evenly and the needles where rubbing against it. When I would speed up the needle would jerk badly but now its all fixed :)

We rang vdo about my mates dash 100-150 for a repair not good!
