if you want something close to the 3.9's behind the auto then maybe 3.23 behind the T5 would be similar (not taking into account of highway rpm's)

from my experience 3.73's behind an EA-EBI T5 was too much and drove like truck

however 3.73's behind an EBII-EL box would be great as they have taller gear ratios. If your running an EA-EBI T5, then 3.45's will be ideal

The box itself is, better synchro's and tapered roller bearings.

Whether the ratios are is dependant on you.

Is this for your wagon?

If so then only the EF XR had a 3.45 diff and the XR Utes may have them too.

But the centre from the sedans will go in.

The EA box has shorter ratios in 1, 2, 3 and 5 than the ED box.

I have the EA box and a 3.27 LSD in my wagon and I find it to be plenty punchy off the line.

An EA box and 3.27 ends up being the same overall as an ED box and 3.45.

Cheers
BenJ
