when pulling a engine and transmission out together as one how do you remove the tail shaft at the transmission to get it out, what do you undo |

undo the bolts which connects the tail shaft to the diff, then it should just slowly pop out from the back of the gear box

the bolts dont want to undo is there another way
if you dont undo the bolts at the diff will the transmission end just pop out if you take out the clips holding the tailshaft to the auto |

The yoke just slides in, theres no clips, it is possible to leave it in there, just have to be carefull when pulling the engine and auto out,

ok do you have to slide the yoke out or will it come out when removing engine and auto without taking the diff end off
found clips that spring out when putting a screwdriver under them how long do engines and autos take to come out when all bolts and stuff is already undone and only the driveshaft needs taking off |

I have removed engines & transmissions without undoing the bolts at the diff end of the tailshaft. It just means the tailshaft stays attached to the car. When you pull the engine & trans out, the tailshaft will just slowly slide out until it falls out of the back of the trans.
When everything has been removed, pipes, bolts & wires, engine & auto should come out in under 30mins. Depending on if you have 1 or 2 ppl doing the job. Good idea to have the bonnet off the car too. Cheers ToranaGuy

bonnets already off and cars jacked up enough to take the pressure off the tyres at the front, is that enough gap
and when you put the engine and auto back in the tailshaft should just pop in shouldnt it? |

Should be enough gap. When you put the engine & trans back in, you will need to fiddle a little to slip the tailshaft back into the back of the trans. Don't push the enigne all the way back & down onto the sub frame before trying to slip the tailshaft in! Cheers ToranaGuy

Probably a good idea to drain the trans oil too, because unless you put a plug in the end of the trans, the oil will pour out the end.
