My petrol/gas ED fairmont is having some issues. I think the fuel pump has packed it in as it wont run in petrol any more. I tried to have a look but my boot has been leaking a bit and all the screw heads have rusted out.
Any way I changed the fuel pump in my EBXR6 a few years ago and it didnt go to well had to take it in to get it redone with a new unit. Is there any thing i should be aware of when dropping a replacement unit into the tank. I it as simple as pop it in and go? Also where would you recommend that I source a good fuel pump from on the sunshine coast.

Bosch fuel pump from a reputable store - or look out for RipCo when they have 20% off sales?
To get the pump out, make the tool. Its in most factory manuals since XF (local library perhaps) - and having it means that you can simply undo it with a socket - and not too much damage. Also have a read about fuel levels etc : Less than a half tank, undo the tank retainers a bit so that the tank is not distorted and its not too hard Nigel |

Last time i did it the tank was full as. So do i need to replace the whole unit or just the pump itself.

Just the pump. I have done it wiht a full tank as well, but its supposed to be easier with it less full - tank doesnt distort as the cover comes off.
