hey guys, whilst installing a driving light switch on the weekend i managed to butcher my shifter surround with a drill, only to workout that due to the black strip needing to move forwards & backwards, it was no deal.
whats the go with removing it? i tried to unscrew with the shifter just under the knob, got one full turn that i really struggled with and decided not to go on until i had an educated shot at it.

yeah thats what my suspicion was, will have a crack at it tomorrow then head to the wreckers.
