get a 9/16 socket and hit it on with a hammer. You'll need to buy a new sump plug though.

if that dosent work try using vice grips or take it to a mechanic and let them take care of it. Probably something they encounter often.

Have you got a Hex impact socket? bash that on, and then crack it.

Give the bolt head afew firm hits with a hammer also

I'd try the locking vice grips first, I have seen an alloy sump crack when someone bashed a socket onto the plug.

Bit of heat might help too. Also, centre punch and hit it on the flattest part of the bolt and see if you can turn it that way.

One we used to use at work when I was a tradie was to weld a nut onto the head of the bolt...it would both give you the nut's flats to get a socket onto, and the heat also helps to loosen it (a word of warning!! heat from a welder and an alloy sump might be a baaaad combination...be careful if you intend to go this way, although the fact that the sump is full of oil will help dissipate and dampen the heat effect...)

Yeah either that or weld a bar on, or take the hammer and chisel to it, my preffered method where possible.
by the way I'd recommend you get a new sump plug prior to butchering the old one out. e.g. avoid crap getting in on the Sunday arvo after you do it and realize no ones open that can supply one.

Get a thread bloke out to sort it out if its bad, and you start to struggle. He will remove it and supply a new plug. Better than f**k the sump, they are soft being alloy.

I tried the vice grips and still it strips. The bolt is on so tight i got no idea how someone could possibly get it on the tight. And after all this the bolt hasnt moved at all. And i tried hitting it to loosen it up. Im thinking get a mechanic to see it. And oil change that should only take 20mins has now gone well over 1/2 hr and sump bolt still not budging

Have you tried a pair of Stilsons? (Pipe wrench) - assuming you have enough room.. Or another suggestion but a bit extreme is to drill it out - mark exact dead centre of the drain plug, progressively larger drills, run a tap thru to clean up threads - or maybe drill and use an Ezy Out?

I came across the same problem when I was changing my Break rotors, a bush mechanic had F***ed the bolt. We used a pipe wrench, the bolt head is now oval but it did come off, this is what a mechanic will do (my neighbor is a mechanic and he did this for me after screaming some profanities at nub mechanics). to me this sounds the safest as its an aluminium so bashing it or using a welder near it sound like last resort things.

I have used a small angle grinder (Very Gently) & file to re-dress the flats on a sump bolt. Then I used a smaller socket.
I think the BA Sump bolt is alloy so you would need a Tig or a Mig welder & a little experience to be able to weld a nut or a bar onto the rounded bolt
