G'day guys,
Just wondering if anyone with the 4.0L MPEFI 6 cyl has had a similar problem to what i've had a few times! After servicing my car (oil & filtre change) i washed the motor. i covered the dizzy as best as i could so that water wouldn't travel inside the dizzy cap & onto the rotor button, but after washing it & blowing it out with an air line for about 15 mins the car started normally. No miss-fire...NOTHING!! I drove it down the street (approx. 500m) and it just cut out completely! No jittering & no warning what-so-ever! This was yesterday. Today i was driving it again, stopped at a set of traffic lights, and took off normally & again, it just cut out & wouldn't start again, so i had 2 get it towed to work! [b]Now[b], i replaced the coil, leads & the ignition module (long grey plastic thing that is @ the base of the dizzy). it hasn't played up so far as i was driving home, but i'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem & its been something else other than: -Ignition Module -Leads -Ignition Coil Thanks guys & sorry for the long story! lol |
