Hey guys I'm new here on Ford Mods. The names sefton im from new zealand and i drive a 1991 ford fairmont ghia its a auto by the way with the mpfi and everything, (wish it was manual). Anway is putting a new window reg into my backleft door and my mate fired up the car for me i stepped out and looked at the exhaust. $#@! first time i'v seen any sort of smoke come out the exhaust and iv owned the car a good year and a half and bloody look after it. I understand white smoke is due to water getting in and blue is that its burning oil whats the cause of this black smoke? Its not excessive by the way. Any ideas fellas at ford mods? Bit ov a novice btw

Black is normally fuel. They do run a bit rich in general, but more so when cold.
It could also have been moisture mixing with the carbon on the inside of the exhaust piping. |
