Hey, my EF when you first start it in the morning will start, run for like 30 secs, then stall, it will stall IMMEDIATLEY if u put it into drive, and it might do it 2-3 times, however, the 3rd time u start it, it'll be fine. The engine is a 165kW unit out of an EL. Is it possible that it's doing it because I havent wired something up correctly? (converted from 6cyl to V8). My current theorys are vacuumn leak somewhere, loosing fuel pressure, or somehow maybe spark breaking down. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers, Gab

Hey Mate,

Vacuum leak sounds like the first place i would check. Cracked hoses can leak badly but are hard to see. The only way you would know for sure is by getting a vacuum guage and hooking that up.

With fuel pressure, i would try turning the key to the ON and OFF position about two or three times and listen for the fuel pump to prime, make sure it is priming and then start it to see if its made a difference in the length of time before it stalls.

Could also be a faulty sensor on the motor too? It would be worth getting a mechanic to plug it into a diagnostics machine.

Good Luck,

I think it's because it's a gabtron car & there prone to play-up.
