I really like what you've done there. The black is a great touch that I wouldnt have thought would work with the cream of the cappa interior. I was thinking of bringing in a bit more darkness into the interior by doing trim similar to the FBT, but this is nice and something I will keep in mind.
It could be just what is needed to make black seats (BA-BF GT/GT-P) suit in the cappa interior.

It looks very similar to the latest BMW 520.

not sure why ford didnt do something like the VT/X commos and have factory speakers in the rear doors and provisions for 6x9s on the shelf for premo sound?

Cause they sound like a** too. And 6x9's need to be killed with fire.

Yeah true but what standard el, au, ba falcon or commo speaker doesnt? at least if they cut the holes and throw a grill in, you can then play around with better stuff later.

I was happier with the stock EL ones over the supposed Premium sound in my GT-P.

But FWIW, there should be no speakers behind the front row of seats. Ever been to a live concert and stood with your back to the stage?

Cheers MADXF,

I was also a bit unsure of how it would turn out after having a few thoughts about doing the black cappa combo, until i saw another member on here do a similar job in his LTD and looked s**t hot so i decided to go ahead with it. Doesnt look too bad as it is now, just needs new or retrimmed black/cappa seats, although a set of BA XR ones would look mint in the ol' EF. Have left the old cloth type fairmont door trims in place (just added leather cappa door cards to them) for now to match the seats but that will soon change. Should be getting some full leather/woodgrain door trims out of an LTD soon which will also get the satin black treatment so it should look even better than it does now.

Gee that 520 interior looks bloody sexy doesnt it 8-)

Check out a GT E then, there's IMHO lots of similar design cues.

Not available in a cream interior though, black or red.

Old picture here, but nice to think back to the work I put into it.

Now the car interior is basically all cappa, black and LTD woodgrain. All that is grey now is the carpet.

So when I get back to Aus there is still quite a lot to do with regards to the interior. Can't wait!

KWIKXR, that is the EXACT look that I was after for my station wagon! When we bought our VW Golf last may I saw one that had the black/cream interior and I tried to get people here to photoshop exactly what you have there. Just need some of those ebay cream leather skins for your seats and then you're set aye?

I hear ya mate, cream coloured covers would set the interior off big time. Black/cream goes so well together. Was thinking of going black seats with cappa stitching but after seeing a picture of the G6E interior, im hooked

Do it to the wagon Banarcus, you'll love it :P
You have the EF/EL style door trims etc in yours dont you? Think i remember seeing it somewhere (but in grey iirc), it looked bloody mint

There is one or two things that are stopping me from doing that. The difficulty in finding a wagon that has good cappa interior trim and hoodlining in the rear plus my pocket money is very light at the moment :( Believe me, if I had my time again, I would've got the cappa interior for my car in the first place rather than grey.

I had the chance to get a DL LTD interior when I did my interior conversion because I was after a EF or EL V8 ECU and found the V8 LTD. The only thing it was missing was the chrome door handles but the rest is history now I'm afraid :( It was a very gay decision now in hindsight.......

so come on and show us ya Interior Mods :) and you went about it :) :)
Image
with the dash facia , i got a spare , smoothed it out with 600grit sandpaper got lazy - took it to work and got the painters to highfill it and i rubbed it back with 800 wet n dry paper and airbrushed it with Car colour i had left over ! The silver bits were takin out of orignal dash facia and yet again smoothed down to rid the grain effect and then painted in frost silver ! no clear was applied ! wanted to keep a dull finish to it all :)
Image
also it may pay to get extra parts for the dash and what ever else ya want to paint cause when its done u just swap it over with ya original parts ! if ya dont like it swap them back !
Image

PS : im going to write up a doco on how to : prep and paint dash facia :
- for those who arnt to clue'e on that sorta stuff :)

When i looked at this post i saw the mobile phone in the holder and thougt "geez this thread must be old"

Yes, the car is filthy (as always).
Ahah, car is filthy, as always.

But hey, I admire the work on the door insert bottom, as seen here. Is there a write up anywhere on how to do this sort of thing?

Hey I remember building those, awesome speakers 8-)

I did have a build thread for them but the pics have been removed from photobucket, I can post them back up if anyone is interested.......
