Just a quick question.

Will there be any issue with putting slotted rotors on my BA Fairmont? I had an ED before with slotted rotors and the ABS had to be unplugged (previous owner installed). Found out it needed new ABS tone sensors (?) otherwise the ABS would randomly activate under light braking for example.

Will the same issue apply? Or because other BA models had slotted rotors they changed them to cater for both slotted and solid?

Cheers,
Jacob

you shouldnt have an issue with the ba,,

you might find that your ed had ef rotors fitted causing the abs fault..

ive got slotted rotors on my ed and no fault..
also got slotted rotors on my mrs au2 and no abs fault...

There will be no issue, as long as they are B series rotors. sounds like the issue you suffered previously was Ef/el rotors being installed on an eb/ed. Pulse rotor had different spacing. BA/BF has same spacing I think.

Ah I see, wasn't aware he'd put on EF/EL rotors. But well I guess that finishes this up! Thanks

If you're careful, you can remove the tone wheels from the rotors and swap them over - main thing of course is not warping them on removal.
EDIT: Slotted rotors are directional, are they not ?? (L and R sides).

They are directional with a sticke indicating which side they are on. I whacked slotted DBAs for all wheels on mum's RTV. Much better than the stock rotors she reckons; stock ones were very soft and warped easily.
