The bottom ends of the EFI windsor was the same, I don't see why it won't bolt up, and wire up to your current wiring.

Cheers

It will fit mate - I have a 98 xr8 box in my 95 EF - as ToranaGuy said they are the same EB-AU im fairly sure - though Im 100% sure that all E-Series are the same so you will have no worries swapping them over.

Welcome to FordMods buddy :)

Cheers

I think I read somewhere on this forum that the early boxes were controlled by the main ECU, whilst the later boxes had their own ECU, or is that only for the sixes? Or I don't know what I am talking about?

As long as he is running his factory wiring & computer, it should be bolt in, then plug in & play.

It's the other way round. AU had trans control integrated into the EEC....this makes no difference to the gearbox itself though.

The shifter position in the A Series was different (longer) and will require some slight modification of the trans tunnel. Shifter will pop up further back towards rear of car. Can be done though.
