Options:
1) Series 1 Manual ECU 2) Chip with manual tune 3) Resistor trick If you are doing the VCT conversion as well I would lean towards getting a chip for your standard auto ecu with a manual VCT tune on it. Someone can confirm but I am sure the VCT tunes would have different fuel/ignition maps.
