our car has reached 300,000km and apparently when they reach that they start drinking heaps of water and you dont know where its going..
so we found a leak but the head needs to be replaced how much would it cost? would it cost more because its a tickford head? please help |

If you get it done try to make sure they use an AU head gasket. its the key ingredient.

Yep, what he said..and keep an eye on the T on the front of the head as per number 2, I've known a bloke who did that... I did my head gasket myself for just under 400, that also included getting the head welded and machined as the rear water jackets were pretty corroded.

AU MLS (multi layer steel) gasket are a completely different style of gasket to whats factory fitted, and as mentioned is definitely what you want to replace it with. |
