Is the only difference the smaller diameter spring seat due to the tapering spring on the AU?
Is the spring or strut any longer/shorter between the two models? Cheers. |

I fitted a set of front struts and springs from an AU into an ED, no problems. About the only thing you might need to do is either cut off the brake hose bracket or hammer it flat against the shock. |

Awesome.
I've recently got a set of Eibach springs for an AU and bought a pair of AU spring seats to replace the seats on my Koni red shocks. But the other day while reading something I read that the AU shock was longer and I got worried, but you've set my mind at ease. I love the misinformation that gets thrown around forums as fact....Just because your mate at the pub told you, doesnt make it true. Anyway, on with the Eibach goodness. |

My mate at the pub told me AU front shocks and springs as a unit will fit EA onwards. Even BA, and XH.

Well turns out there might be a problem.
Does anyone have access to an EL and an AU shock to compare the height of the spring seats? I installed the Eibach Au front springs on to my modified EL Koni shocks and this was the result... Something tells me it's not going to settle that far. These springs are supposed to be Tickford height. I ave a feeling the one detail I didnt check out properly is the one that has brought me undone and that was to check the spring seat heights. |
