Hi guys,
I am new here so be gentle, I want to convent my compact to either
single rail 4 speed or a 5 speed box out of a xf falcon.
question 1 what pedal box is advisable , I have xc 6 cylinder or xf pedals
also while i'm doing this convession I want to put the power booster onto the firewall
as the car was converted to disc's but had a remote booster , I have 2 different xb boosters
& master cylinders.
any info would be appreciated

Gary

Is it a windsor? What size? Is it a 5 or 6 bolt bellhousing? That's the first thing you need to sort. If it is a 5 bolt block, you will have to find a bellhousing, and there won't be many of them around.
If you going to all this trouble, you may as well fit a 5 speed and get the overdrive for the highway. Fit a T5, anything else is a waste of time. Some XF 5 speeds are the same as a sigme used, and are useless.
As far as a pedal box goes, good luck! You will have to modify something to fit, maybe the xc one would be the go, and fit both pedals to the car. Make sure the booster and master cylinder will fit between the firewall and tower before you get to involved. A xf booster & master cylinder would be the easiest choice.
Good luck. 8-)

thanks sooty,
the motor is a 302 windsor , so no bolt up trouble,
the box I have I is a borg warner 5 speed out of an Spac, what does a T5 look like ?
the brakes will more than likely go TE/TC booster & xb master, if the xc or xf omes dont fit in.
Gary
ps that gently enough

XF booster for 4 wheel disc brakes have better "power".
Are you going to fit rear disc brakes?
Is the Engine a 260 Windsor?
Dellow housings may have something that fits.
XF & EA T5's are the same....EB onwards still have same bolt pattern, just different ratio's.

No ,just front discs & orinal rear drums, Its a 302 windsor, so will probly go xc master & booster'
or go with the xb master & booster.

The 5spd from a 4.1 Xf will be the T5 & are worth the hassel, the 5spd from the 3.3 carby Xf is the same rubbish box as a sigma & not worth anything except scrap metal.

Would an XY manual peddle box fit?

Cheers

thanks stu & torana guy,
assuming the 62 compact runs xy hydraulics, I'm guessing
the pedal box may fit, but I'd rather get the info first , to stop too much modifying, if ya know what I mean :? :?
