i would go the high end alpines or the pioneer p1y or the 8650,all can be had for around $700

id go either the pioneer 8650 or jvc 705 both play mp3. if you think you may chuck in a dvd in the future then go with the jvc as its go two line inputs otherwise the 8650 has better sound capabilities

i like the pioneer deh p1y but only one year warranty the alpine has 2year and jvc 1 year so alpine is a better option but i don't know

in term of value for your $$$ the pioneers come up trumps. Alpines cost almost or sometimes even twice the price for the same features. Personally i think the pioneers also look better as they dont have a s**t load of plain looking buttons like an old air craft....but thats me

I have always been a pioneer man but have just recently come accross the Alpine gear and believe it is terriffic.

As an aside i have a 7998 unit for sale in the "For Sale" section.
Obviously i am a local seller so you would have no worries about it not getting to you. In fact you can hand over cash and get it at the same time if you wish...

Eclipse CD5444 go and check one out highly recomend em. i looked and listemed to alpine and eclipse. after checking out eclipse i knew what i was getting.
