Any ideas if a BA Auto shifter handle will fit an AU3 without any mods?.

thats the operation of the box nothing to do with the handle

the actual insides of the handle are different
could be done if u where able to mate the BA handle onto the AU shifter shaft

iirc there is a member here who has put a BA shifter and surround into a EB/ED i think

Yeah I had to make a plastic shim spacer due to the ef/el having a much thinner shaft
and a couple wedges as the ba lifts a rod to converts the upwards motion to downwards motrion. to push the rod down, but was defintaely worth it. I'd consider the whole tiptronic Idea but didn't want to lose the woodgrain, always felt that sprayed silkver a little tacky looking had the insert painted to in a charcoal, was hoping to get a woodgrain insert but went 5spd instead.
au will be a bit different again suspect doable, but it isn't a 5 minute job to get right.
