hi guys!
i will be buying all of my radiator hoses & thermostat this week and am planning on doing the flush and change on the au maybe saturday!! unfortunately i have misplaced my owners manual ? can someone tell me the water to coolant ratio for NULON 100% LONG LIFE CONCENTRATED COOLANT. the bottle says standard ratio is 5ltrs coolant to 10 ltrs of water. or do i go the 50/50 mix!!!!!! thanks pete. |

i always go 50/50

i thought it was only 10L well i've been doin like 33% then

WILDEB wrote: i thought it was only 10L well i've been doin like 33% then thats another good question! when draining the cooling system out if there is a 15 ltr water capacity! how come i can only get about 10 or so litres app/ out of the bastard when i drain it! how do you get the entire amount of water out of the engine and heater system. and should i pre mix the coolant in a 15 ltr container before adding so i know i have the correct ratio. pete. |

Haha, I've always wondered the same thing. I've always done 5Ls of coolant to 10Ls of good water. Probably more like 6 or so litres seeing as the old stuff never really is completely drained.

33% coolant:66% distilled water is the go. There's a limit to how much glycol should be in the mix. I found this previous thread that might be of use.
post1027550.html#p1027550 If you really want to get more coolant out, you can disconnect the heater tap below the BBM.
