can only read whats written, how much end float on the crank, oil it up, fit the crank, torque the caps down, and turn it by hand about 12-20 times, two bolts in the back flange, will spin easy if ok.no oil in caps or on back of bearing shells.if your happy keep going.

what you mean 2 bolts in back flange,

cranks bolted down atm and i can turn it with minimal effort

also i understand that it is common practice to moly lube the thrust, but what about the other bearings

i was thinking some moly lube??

any ideas

ok so ive swapped lower caps around, checked and checked again 7 hours of checking and heres what ive got

Main 7 = 0.050
main 6 = 0.050
main T= 0.055
main 4=0.050
main 3= 0.052
main 2=0.050
main 1=0.055

+-=5-8,

im probally going to stick with thease,, as i cant really be stuffed sending the crank for machining,,

i can pull the engine back out if i need to in the future so ill experiment with this oil clearance

should the big ends be smaller, same size, larger clearance for oil so not to incur a restriction???

Thats a bit tight. A linish would get you pretty close and won't cost much,
your rod bearing should measure at 0.050mm to 0.055mm

the mains really should be closer to 0.060 to 0.065.

Like i said 0.001 per inch of journal. OR 0.0254mm per 25.4mm of journal.

We have already been over this earlier in the thread. please read it and think for your self.
