Okay guys, I got a EA cfi. I would like to know the parts i would need to convert the 120kw car to multipoint. It would be nice having the extra power, i know its only 19kw but with petrol prices going up its more efficient.

Could someone please give me a list off all the things i would need to convert it. Would it need a new ECU.

Cheers. Please dont tell me to do a search a search because i have and can't find anything.

Inlet Manifold with sensors attached (use an EB2 onwards one ie 91 DA)
throttle body with TPS. (again use EB2 onwards TPS)
Fuel Rail and injectors
A/C pump Bracket
Air Box
EA MPFI Wiring loom
MPFI fuel pump (they are silver, not black like CFI)
MPFI ECU
MPFI Dizzy
MPFI throttle cable
MPFI dip stick tube
MPFI water pipe thermostat outlet
MPFI Brake booster hose, map sensor hose and Vacume hoses
New Heater Hose (i pretty much routed my own hoses)

to use EB TPS i cut the plug off an EB2 loom and attached it to my EA loom.

okay so how much time would be invovled in converting it. Would i be able to do it with my dad in a day or would i leave it to the mechanic. My dad used to be a mechanic but finished up in '80 and also how much would all that cost. 300-400 or so.

Cheers mate

it took me about 4 hours or so but ive helped my mate do one before so i knew exactly what had to be done.

the longest part was doing the heater hoses.

i also forgot to mention you will need a MPFI inlet manifold gasket too.

it cost me all up around $100 by the time you included hoses, and other little BS things i forgot. but i had a few of the expensive parts already, ie ECU, dizzy and fuel pump. it will cost no more than $250 but.

i see your in melbourne, i sourced most of my parts from Pick-a-part in cambelfeild as they are pretty cheap down there.

I also am interested in this but I filled up last night and I have a 3.9 CFI engine and just highway driving I am getting 670km per tank

I dont think converting my car to MPFI will increase my economy only the power :)

i have the opportunity to get myself a ea multipoint wreck, and i am seriously considering swapping it into my cpi ea. ill have the whole car which will make life easier. i am comfident i can do it, but the wiring side has got me beat. i have read the tutorials many times, but i am finding it hard to understand how to wire everything up? basically do i need to change everything from the ecu inside the car right down to the wiring in the engine bay?
