what is everyone running in their T5?
I know Ford recommend ATF but after getting a quote on oil change and asking what they use he mentioned 75 grade gear oil, is it wise to go against whats in the manual? Car is a BF XR6 if that makes any difference.

I run ATF in my T5.
I would stick with what is specified.
Cheers

I run Castrol Transmax Z ATF in mine. Seems to do the job, and for the price, it should.

Depending on the condition of the box, and being in a BA/BF, using a 75W- light gear oil, will make it hard to change gears when cold.

Just change it more often than what the service schedule says.....like every 20,000km...or if you give it a bit, every 15,000km......ATF is cheap compared to replacing g'boxes....yes?
