the amp sees a 2ohm load, not the sub

Cheers, so a decent 2 channel is the go. because at the moment ive got an audioline amp and its pretty old.

option audio 800rms mono, great little unit, better to have more than enough then not enough, this way it leaves room for upgrades if you decide to go that little bit better!
800rms at 1ohm 500rms at 2ohm 300rms at 4ohm should be able to get a new one for under $200 these days! |

But he wants 350Wrms at 4 ohm... You've just recommended an amp that doesn't make the power he requires. If he was going for Option Audio, the OAA160 would be a better choice as it makes 350Wrms at 4 ohm. But personally, I'd opt for an amp that does at least 400Wrms at 4 ohm just for the extra headroom. I just had a quick look for 2 channels that do 400Wrms at 4 ohm when bridged and there's not really any in the budget range... If your budget is important then it might actually work out cheaper to get a monoblock that does 400Wrms at 4 ohm (like the others have said  ). At least the amp will have an easy life only running 4 ohm.

some people need to do some reading about Ohm loads
how exactly do you make a single 4ohm sub run @ 2ohm? 2 Ohm stereo and 4 Ohm Mono are the same. Put 2 of those subs onto a monoblock and that amp will see 2 Ohm stereo, but the subs still run @ 4 Ohm 2 Ohm Mono isnt supported by many of the cheaper amps and would cause amp failure. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-uOzlFI4ko1 ... iring.html |

That is the sub it came in the box the only modelnumber i can find is MB12S

Take the sub out and have a look on the back for the proper model number, if you havent already. When i googled 350W MBQuart subs i could only find DVC subs.
This one in the link is 300W RMS and is different to the one you have pictured in that boot. Secondly the one on the website has a chrome ring around it where the one in the boot doesnt, and lastly the one in the boot doesnt have the word "Formula" written beneath the MBQuart logo. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_197 ... +304S.html I reckon youve got the DVC, but i could be wrong cuz i dont know much about MBQuart stuff.
