Hi guys, my car is running really ruff, dropped down to 5 cyls, now 4. Anyway, I am not getting any spark from lead 5 or 6. On the coil I am getting a weak spark from 5 and 6. I just want confirmation that the coil is screwed.

Also will an au coil pack fit an ef/nf, or will it fit with some mods as my mate has a spare one?

Thanks in advance Josh.

AUseries 1 will.

changing it out for a known good unit is the easist way to diagnose. only takes about ½ hor to swap out, bit quicker with 2 people.

The coil pack models (EF and AUI esp)... when the leads start to go too high resistance and don't deliver a spark properly, if the leads aren't swapped out straight away then the coil keeps trying to spark and eventually it breaks down inside itself and once its tracked and sparks internally you'll never get it work again...

I'd be checking the resistance of your leads... 9 times out of 10 this is why the coil pack fails...

Cheers,
Tim
