is there a way to safely run the ICC as well as the aftermarket stuff? I was thinking of installing my old alpine h/u just for the full speed ipod and using the ICC for radio and cd etc, only problem would be using the sub..only work through the headunit and not icc

why install a head unit just to run an ipod? ba icc has no mp3 capability. disconnect it and run the aftermarket h/u. makes it easier for amp and such to be added too. if you look on ebay there are fascia kits for the ba/bf to mount a h/u in the tissue box and look factory, plus they have an attachment for a cig lighter.

I listen to a lot of radio and the stock tuners are a million times better than any aftermarket head unit, i find that i get 100% clear reception in areas where with the old Alpine it would be just white noise. pretty big deal for me living in the hinterland. It's sitting there gathering dust so why not make use of it, even for just the ipod.

Does the facia with the USB ports fit in a manual?

DNA make a surround that keeps the lighter, im using one.
I have my power going to the distro block that powers my amps (fused)
I have used the ground from the cig lighter as my earth and the power from it as my ignition.
Have had no problems doing it like this, some will say to make a new earth but I've found it fine.
