Update,

Apparently the T5 i traded away and had all intentions of installing in my own car was in need of $500 in bearings and labour. I was not aware of this as the box was fine when i brought it and has been sitting safe in the shed. So due to us both being at a loss i will source a new front bar, preferably a Pedders 28mm.

The seller Said he thought he sent some S shaped brackets in order for the bar to fit but failed to mentioned this in the week it took us to finalise everything via PM. I put the bar under the car and it didn't even look like it would go between the shocks. I will investigate these S brackets and if they dont exist ill be selling the bar.

Will be hard to sell interstate due to the awkward size....

On another note the rear bar does actually match up so it will go in when the LSD finally does. I know no one will really see it but here what i got up to yesterday since there was actually sun light and some warmth.

This 3M under body black was described as " this sh|t sticks to anything", looks much better now.

Cheers.

Does that mean "why did you bother painting it"?

Cause yellow seems like a pretty silly colour....

Cheers

I dunno about painting the diff yellow, King Springs are yellow, but it will look much better if anyone has to get under your car, the way it is now.

I dunno about the T5 needing $500 of work, unless they took it to a workshop for a rebuild. You can DIY it for much, much less. Did you get any pics of the supposed "needing rebuild" bits from the T5 - any measurements to support how "in need of rebuild" the box was?

Not all members on here are rogue or dodgy. I have come across a few lazy members who say they will turn up to get bits & then either don't or are very, very late without any phone calls to let you know. I have also had a fair few members rock up on time & buy what they agreed they wanted for the price they said, i sold an Auto once, I was having a hard time getting it out & the guy even helped with that!

You will get that on any internet forum.

Cheers

@my yellow comment.. it was sarcasm, looks good black but a polished diff would look awesome :P

i too have had my fair share of bad deals or people pulling out. or the 3 cars i sold on ebay stating i the largest font available QLD BUYERS ONLY and all 3 were bought by people in NSW.. guess how many turned up to get the car? NONE! not even a 'sorry im too stupid to read the ad' message.

but in saying that i have had some really good deals. people who show up on time and give you a call before they arrive to make sure your home.

Ended up getting mine for $95 including post. The payment cleared on the 26th so it's been about 10 days but only 6 working days. But hey im not in a real hurry lol.

Hey everyone,

Not much of an update.

Car has been off the road as of last Friday with smart lock issues. The car needed a tap on the dash to start every say 5 times i started it. Then it got worse so i got a new red BEM unit but didn't get round to changing it, then lost it..... Then randomly maybe a couple times a week my car wouldn't start and would require i wait half hour with the key on before it would start. Now..... on Friday i was driving stopped at a pedestrian crossing at the shops and it shut down so i had to roll it back into a car park. Tried the half hour key on, then half hour with the battery disconnected then another half hour with the key on....... nothing. Got it towed home and tried many times to have the key on for half hour. I have found and replaced the red BEM, and did the 30min key on then the smart lock light went crazy flashing faster then i have ever seen yet still wouldn't let the car start. So now i have ordered a J3 with smart lock disabled :) I installed an EL ecu for the J3 and if the car doesn't start after this.... then well fu ck.

Will have too install my wade i have had for a while now because the chip is tuned to suit it along with the T5 premium fuel ect.

Cheers.

So the smart lock issue has prompted you to fit a newer ecu & your lumpy cam after all this time? If so, that's not such a bad thing is it? lol.

Cheers

There's a turbo kit down in Vic up for sale atm, but it would cost a bomb to ship. I know, i shipped a red motor holden turbo kit from the central nsw cost to Melb. Cost me a bomb & that was when i was working for the transport company too!

If your fairly happy with the car as it is, get it reliable & just enjoy driving it man. I wish i was happy with the way one of my car's was atm, but there are things i want to do to all of them, which will forever keep me busy!

Cheers

throw a MPFI EAII or EBI CU in there as they dont have smartlock. if it doesnt run then the issue will lie elsewhere.

WWWEEEELLLLLL.

Its been a while but, since last post.

I moved out of home, moved back after 6months when house was sold from under us.

Went on a trip, lost charge in battery, Battery went flat.

Got new battery, 2nd hand alt. Didn't fix it. Simple loose wire in the plug which was hidden, covered by the rubber boot and tape argh.

Boot latch broke doesn't close.....

Need new tyres as my B.f.Goodrich g-force sports are done for, after a respectable 3 years. Not made any more :(

Replaced welsh plugs, and cleaned up a water leak with the heater tap.

New pads all round.

Still yet to fit my Wade cam shaft as im not willing to do it myself, also got a EL ECU with J3 installed that i am yet to put in due to past smart lock issues.....

Loving the LSD, getting use to it on damp roads every now and then. Get to experience the step out to the left and learn to control it even at looooow speeds.

Have been working on GF's excel, new speakers, head unit, brakes, bulbs, fuel pump, removed faulty kill switch for now as it may be the cause for the fried fuel pump as it was wired into its power supply. Its a tired little car with 240,000+ under its belt, but it gets her to a from work while she's on her P's.

Speaking on P's im all clear of my restrictions as of 19th of November, Would like to turbo the Ed but its just to much of a headach with my little experience in the area.

Any who that is all.

Regards.
