I Have a 1000w Kenwood sub amp hooked up with 4 gauge wiring and when I pump up the music when the lights are on the fog lights dim a little bit to the beat. Do I need a better alternator?

that or a high performance battery made for audio system, on my old car (fully sick liberty :P) my footwell lights would flicker when the sub went nuts, when the battery died replaced it with a better one and problem solved.
