G'day thrillseekers, has anybody tried "Ultima" brand shock absorbers. I see them on Fleabay for about 1/2 the price of Moroes for instance, and I am a bit sceptical. I have visited their website, and they say all sorts of great things but.........

Are they any good for normal use? I.e.: std suspension, normal loads etc.

All comments gratefully accepted 8-)

Yeah they do the job as long as you dont ask to much of them.
they are a cheaper alternative.
Have you priced up a set of KYB shocks, they are also a cheaper alteranative, but are oem in some vehicles.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I might go for Monroe or KYB, as I want them to last a bit longer than "just do". I guess it's the old story, you get what you pay for!! :D

Optima shocks are s**t pure and simple in my opinion.
I got dudded by a rather dodgy bloke when they first come out and put a full set in the car as they were meant to be all that and then some.
They were crap like their brake pads.

That just about settles it, it will be Monroes again I think. At least I have had them before w/out any problems. I just thought the Ultimas could be a viable option, after what their website says :D

I prefer oil shocks, gas shocks are so hard to light.....

That's marketing for you. They're definitely not going to bag their own product out and they definitely ain't going to tell you the truth if they want the sale.

...hmmm Koni Yellows...
