Pretty sure the xr6 had higher compression, colder spark plugs, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

The ignition system is the same.
The inlet and exhaust manifolds are the same but the fuel pressure reg on the XR is 300kpa vs the standard 250kpa. The XR ECU has better spark and fuel maps. Cheers BenJ

thanks guys, im pretty sure use are both right.
the reason i wanted to know, was that i have recently bought an xr6 computer to put in my fairmont, ive ported the head, got a bigger cam, got extractors + system and all the rest of it so i thought the xr6 computer will give me a little extra power due to the better fuel and ignition maps. When i plug it in the car misses and carries on (i tried 3 different xr6 computers), but if i put the standard computer back in it runs fine. i thought this was because the dizzy or wiring may have been a bit different? cheers,

have you changed the fuel pressure regulator to a 300 kpa one or a adjustable one?
