Don't they have a trigger wire to turn it on and off. Like the trigger for an amp?
It should turn off with the ignition/ sound system.

(genuine question)
did you read the destructions, or check the setup diagram? I had a s**t drawing in longfong-ese once that had the trigger and power on a single line with a barely noticable split on the diagram, had the trigger wire in the wiring kit but couldn't see where it was supposed to go. I'm pretty sure the ones I've seen set up do turn off, but yours may be one that the screen displays constantly anyway and the power drain is similar to a radios memory wire...if you have a capacitor chances are you have a higher capacity battery as well, so if it's started daily it won't matter too much.

I've seen some with displays that switch off automatically after a few minutes of the car being turned off, whereas some others seem to be on full-time (which is the case with my fused distro block with digital display). Best way of checking would be to turn the car off, close all the doors and boot etc, and fold the rear seat down and see if goes off after a while.
At the end of the day, it's only an LED display which will use up f**k all power IMO. The display on my distro block has been on fulltime ever since it was connected up when I did my boot install (well over a month ago) and haven't had any problems whatsoever. |

This one looks like it is on at all times as it is connected directly to the battery. It shouldn't drain the battery much at all though but best to test that with a current meter.
