just after abit of info on jacking up the rear of my bonnet to get some engine bay heat out.now rubber strip on firewall is gone, but is just putting washers to space the bonnet ok and how much spacing is needed to get heat out and will it even help? i was thinking of getting some aluminium spacers made that bolts under the two bonnet bolts.is this just overkill as im worried about my bonnet and hinges.

Yes you can space your bonnet at the hinges. Use oversize nuts and longer bolts till you are happy with the height and the angle and then make spacers.
Just be aware that there are legalities concerning the rear venting of your bonnet. ie oil on windscreen, and unless your Turbo is engineered you could attract unwanted attention, ie Mr Plod. Bring your car down to Livo on Friday night after 7:30 and we can check it out, opposite Subway next to the Carwash. |

I'm doing the same thing. But so far I've only raised my bonnet
About 5mm by using washers, but that's no where near enough. To help with getting some heat out, remove the rubber seal At the top of the firewall that normally seals the bonnet To the firewall |
