My led strips just arrived.

They are very impressive for the price.

QLD Trip

Had a few issues with water leaks this week. Last thing I needed before heading to QLD today. Turns out the reservior bottle had a couple of cracks, and the return hose to the radiator was dodgy too.

I had a spare bottle, a fitted a new hose. No more leaks. YAY!

After a few delays, we finally got away from Sydney by 9.15am. We made a couple of stops on the way up, and did the trip in approx 11 hours.

I was happy to get approx 400kms from the LPG tank. We stopped at Kempsey for LPG and some Maccas. While at Maccas, a young man asked me if I was a member of Fordmods, to which I of course answered Yes. It was kawasakirider, who was heading south from above Gympie in QLD. I find it amazing the coincidence that we both stopped at the same time and place.

Hitting the theme parks over the next few days, and then heading up to the Sunshine Coast for Christmas.

Cheers
BenJ

I have had the reservoir tank crack on my wagon. I went to Ford for a new one and the AU tank was cheaper by $30 so I got that one and a new hose as it's longer to suit. I figured that every old tank will be getting brittle and it's too important an item to have it dodgy. I had ended up with a cracked head because of the leaks.

Enjoy the parks with the kids.

How's it going, BenJ? Glad you got to where you were headed without any dramas. I was pleased to get from the goldcoast, all the way passed newcastle on only one tank in my AU. It's a pretty good drive I reckon.

I didn't get a chance to look at the wagon in depth but as soon as I saw it I knew it was you :D I saw the door cards when you guys opened the door, extremely clean mate!

I haven't had a chance to get on the net up until now to check out troymans thread like you mentioned, but I got a laptop for christmas so I'm testing it out now :)

Everyone, BenJ is a stand up guy, even though we were both on a strict time schedule he was very accomodating in regards to answering all my questions.

Enjoy the rest of your trip, mate.

Hey, BenJ...
Fantastic work on the óle wagon of late, mate...coming along beautifully!!! Was wondering if you will be back home by around the 10th-ish of January...as we will finally be in Sydney around then (give or take a couple of days)...and it would be great to meet/catch up face-to-face!!! If so...just inbox me details...and we will try and organise meeting up from there!!!
Cheers!!!
Kev.

The updates are a nice read, and great to see that fellow fordmods members are getting out there & getting to meet each other too!

Bummer about the a/c going bust, but luckily you got it running pretty quickly again. No way I'd be doing a road trip like yours without a/c. Hell, I hardly want to drive to the next suburb without it on a hot or even scorching hot day these days.

Seems like your getting reasonable mileage out of the LPG setup, I take it with a fully loaded up wagon?

Cheers
