Can you shed any light as to why I only have 6.5 volts on the fuel pump output to trigger the relay?
I have tried another EEC same issue. Is it a wiring problem or could it be the J3 chip. Does the EEC need to see some thing particular to trigger the fuel pump. Signal from the TFI or something else. If I bridge the relay the pumps run fine and the engine starts no worries. The engine is a 289 with EB EFI fitted. It is not in a Ford though. Any thoughts? Open to suggestions.

have you tried removing the J3 chip?
the fuel pump wire from the ecu should switch to ground when the engine is running, ie 0 volts. as it switches the gnd side of the fuel pump relay how do you have the fuel pump relay wired up, ie pin 85 should go to the fuel pump wire on the ecu and 86 should go to an ignition switched 12v source |

I now realize I have the relay wired wrong. It will be a simple fix. Just rewired the relay. Works as it should now. Thanks for the tip.
