Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forums and I need some help with my brother's falcon that i'm "modifying" for him. I have limited knowledge with Falcon's since I'm a JDM fan who drives Honda Civics and Toyota Corollas LOL.

Anyway...

His car is an AU series 1 falcon but he wants to change the rear bumper to the one that's on the AU series 2 falcon (The squarer looking one).
Is this actually possible to do or are mounting points and everything else different?

Thanks.

the rear bumpers are slightly different from series 1 to series 2..
i found that out when i went to put mud flaps from a series 1 onto a series 2 and they would not fit.. the bumper was a slightly different shape....

AU sedans have the same mounts to hold on the rear bar throughout the series but use different plastic shields at the end of the bar.

What's the plastic shield bit?

If I was to put a new bumper on, would I also need new plastic guards that are inside the wheel well? (just a thought since the shape is different)

Wait. My bad, I'm thinking about the front bumper with the inner plastic guards... DOH!

Anyway, now that I know to an extent that the mounts are the same... are there any modifications that I will need to do before fitting a series II bumper bar on?

Thanks.

Well after some sifting around on the net, I managed to track down a few vehicles which also have a Series II rear bar on a series I.

Here's an example.

Before: With AUI rear bar

After: With AUII rear bar (notice how it doesn't scoop upwards in the back as much as the latter)

Hi guys, I have an AU series 2 Fairlane and I am looking at some aftermarket bars for the front and back similar to the Hawk or TS50 series that are on E-Bay. Can anyone tell me if the Falcon bars and mounts are the same as the Fairlane please. The standard bars on my Fairlane look pretty plain so I want to improve the look. Cheers AU055

No aftermarket bars will fit a Fairlane. Try find (good luck!) a TL50 lower lip

It still has a slight curve, but it isn't as curved as the original one i guess. different tastes i guess. but my brother wanted to cover that exhaust pipe more importantly and also reduce that "curve" where the back wheels were since it looks like the wheels are poking out of the car.

that was only series 3 TL50s
43 series 1s
12 series 2s
3 series 3s

"au055"
a TL50 grill will improve the look of your fairlane a lot more than the lower lip...
